A. 這次是我們二人的自助旅遊, 自己訂行程, 訂旅館, 自己開車。
B. 如果只有 7 ~ 8 天, 你計劃的旅程是可行的 :
Las Vegas ------ Zion --- North Rim -----Lake Powell ----- Arches ----- Bryce ------ Las Vegas
a. 在 Lake Powell 可乘坐遊艇到 Rainbow Bridge , 看看水上風景, 變換口味, 這裡是整個 " 沙漠 "旅程唯一有大片水的地方, 算是玩山遊水。
b. Antelope 是一定要去的。如果要看 Upper Antelope 的 light beams, 就要安排在 11 ~ 12 點之間在 canyon 裡面。我們是早上從 North Rim 出發, 到 Antelope 時是10 點。看完Upper Antelope 接著去 Lower Antelope, 其實後者更美, 人少, 不過比較曲折難走。
c. 從 Lake Powell 到 Arches 間, 如果安排得好, 可以去 Monument Valley 看看, 坐他們的專車繞一圈。如果排不上, 公路163 就可以欣賞到 Monument 的風光。Highway 163 is called
" Monument Highway "。
d. 從 Arches 到 Bryce , 可以計劃到 Capitol Reef , 沿路風景不錯, park 內可以看看 petroglyphs。
e. 我們的旅程是六月十九日到七月一日, 畫長夜短, 要看日出日落并不容易。在 Bryce 時, 因要看 Bryce Point 的日出, 我們要五點起床, 等候五點四十五的日出。在 North Rim 和 Arches 的日落 是九點以後。
f. 因為是高原沙漠地帶, 六七月很熱。走要 trails 最好在早上十點以前, 下午六點以後。我們只有二人, 可以隨意, 人多就麻煩。多數的 trails 不好走, 不走的人只能在停車場苦等。North Rim 的 Bright Angel Trail 算是平坦好走, 我們在二點時去走, 就覺得不好受。要走走停停。Bryce 的Trails 最好從 Navajo loop 下去, 走 Queens Garden 上來, 要二個小時。其實上下都不簡單。時間, 体力不足的話, 從 Queens Garden 下去, 走一段再原路回來。
g. 從 Arches 回到 Las Vegas 可以順路到 Valley of Fire 看看。Valley of Fire 到 Las Vegas 只有一小 時車程。我們去 Valley of Fire 大概有四次了。
h. 我們只是進出 Las Vegas 機埸, 沒有真的去 Las Vegas。下午一點多到就租車出走, 回程坐晚上十一點的飛機。
我們去的時候是一百零三度。
